TM ITALIA WINS ITS FIRST ADI COMPASSO D’ORO FOR THE RUA KITCHEN, RUADELPAPAVERO DESIGN
Rua, the kitchen designed by Ruadelpapavero for TM Italia, won the XXVI ADI Compasso d’Oro (Golden Compass Award).
The award ceremony took place on 9 September at the new ADI Design Museum – Compasso d’Oro in Via Ceresio, 7 in Milan in celebration of its inauguration.
The kitchen, with an island arrangement in an oak finish, is on display at the museum and will help to increase its permanent collection.
Various innovative elements distinguish the Rua kitchen. The first lies in the decision to enhance and embellish the MDF, a material that is usually not visible. The three-dimensional craftsmanship amplifies of the tinted material and, consequently, enhances the aesthetics. The fluted glass, dovetail joints and other details of advanced carpentry are a tribute to the small, sophisticated workshops that represent the dense network of Italian artisanal excellence.
Among the singularities of the kitchen the use of the invisible induction hob “Hubstone by Fabita Induzione” installed under the top.
The “green” approach is an integral part of all TM Italia production: all panels used are in the second reuse cycle for the timber sector. Rua is part of the company’s continuous recruitment of, and connection with, talented young designers. Under the creative direction of Piero Sabatini, the 2018 collection is evidence of the company’s scouting abilities, the transfer of know-how, and the potential to produce innovation in every kitchen project.
“We are very proud of this extraordinary and prestigious result, obtained thanks to the constant commitment and passion of all TM Italia collaborators and partners,” acknowledges Gianluca Tondi, General Manager of TM Italia. “Winning the Compasso d’Oro sends a very strong message and an incentive to work with renewed motivation for the brand and products of the future. A confirmation of the company’s design and production quality and the effectiveness of the decision to place strategic design as a fundamental driver for growth.”
In addition, TM Italia is participating in the “Le Vie del Compasso d’Oro” initiative, which will take place in Milan from 10 September 2020 to 31 January 2021. The Rua kitchen will be displayed in the Via Larga store, in addition to the Miuccia kitchen, also designed by Ruadelpapavero.
