Impexa was developed in partnership with MC+ and expresses TM Italia’s ongoing commitment to supporting creative experimentation and innovation in design language. TM Italia’s Culture of Uniqueness is not only the formula of evolved craftsmanship and compositional variety supported by a one-off industrial approach, but also an openness to design dialogue on themes of inspiration and high intellectual value.

ORGANIC DESIGN

Impexa was born from an experimentation with the California-based duo MC+ (Mattia Biagi and Cardenio Petrucci) and explores the fascinating imperfection of nature through a system of iconic products conceived as functional works of art, capable of illuminating the domestic scene with new reflections on living. TM Italia’s Culture of Uniqueness is expressed through a formula of evolved craftsmanship that allows for a truly unique compositional variety, but above all represents an openness to design dialogue on themes of inspiration and high intellectual value.

The etymology of Impexa derives from the Latin word for “disorder,” evoking the breaking of conventions and the entropy that governs the organic evolution of natural ecosystems: a new poetic dimension of innovation, in which design increasingly has a duty to produce meaning beyond mere technical and aesthetic content.

This concept combines refined design, the finest Italian craftsmanship, and the finest raw materials, forged to last over time and with respect for the environment. A break from the industrial paradigm founded on the rectangular block, achieved through a formal experimentation of great production complexity that aims to celebrate a human-scale dimension of craftsmanship: within the three islands, no two surfaces are parallel except for the horizontal planes, and no vertical right angle appears, just as nature teaches us.

This project stands out for its morphological and functional innovation compared to traditional kitchen design conventions. The three modules command the space and are conceived as totemic elements with dedicated functions, to be positioned “entropically” within the environment. No longer arranged along the perimeter of the space, the layout instead becomes a “diffused” installation that takes center stage in the domestic scene, inviting a radically different sense of proximity for its users.

The Limitless Edition by Impexa introduces a new degree of compositional freedom, with an extensive range of finishes including over 70 matte and glossy lacquers, more than 30 wood essences, 9 metals, 12 eco-mortars, and 12 metallic lacquers, offering endless design possibilities and allowing every project to be customized in a truly distinctive way.

 

The three independent modules each have dedicated functions: washing, cooking, and preparation. The countertops are crafted from high-performance ceramic in a dark slate tone, featuring a three-dimensional volcanic-effect surface inspired by pristine solidified lava. The cooking island integrates concealed induction technology, harnessing the technical properties of the ceramic material, which allows it to function even without a glass cooktop surface. The washing island is fitted with a single-material sink, hand-assembled using traditional stone-working techniques. The internal structure of the three islands is built from wood-fiber panels made from FSC and CARB-P2 certified recycled materials (low chemical emissions).
